Since the launch of my Kickstarter Crowdfunding campaign I was constantly working hard to make sure I got fully funded. As I was totally putting myself out there, pushing myself to new boundaries, completely out of my comfort zone, I really didn’t want to fail.

It’s really hard work running a kickstarter campaign and I learned so much from it. You have to do lots on social media and spread the word to all the contacts you have and convince them to back you. So if you don’t have a big network of contacts, running a successful crowdfunding campaign will be extremely difficult. It made me realise that I am not alone and I have a great network of people around me. So thank you so much to:

Lee Davidson, Gail, Gill, Janet, Annie Murray, Gordon Millar, Ian Godfrey, Wendy Maltman, Cally Booker, Helen MacDonald, John P Craig, Mhairi Wild, Olaf Kleppe, Maggie McKendry, Judith McDowell, Emma White, Andrew Milne, Suzanne Scott, Sandra Cormack, Vicky, Nicola Donnelly, Nancy Rattray, Jackie Waring, Amy Storey, Diane King, Marysia Holmes, Mhairi Towler, Debbie, Caroline McKenna, Kathleen Delaney, Laura, Joanne Hepburn, Pamela Laird, Hillary Haines, Rebecca Sarah Black, Mike Press, James Dellow, Sheila McLees, Jill Slater, Chris Marr, Michael Kay, Douglas Paterson, Vari McDonald, AFM Accountants, Duncan, Hope, Laura Wardrop, Shirley, John Delaney (brother and dad), Wendy McEwan, Danii, Judy Scott, Stephen Delaney, Patricia Anne Steel, Dale Galloway, Nicola, Fiona Sichi.

If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t be able to design new work. So thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

So it’s time to for me to relax and have a treat!

This week I decided to take a few days off and visited Peterhead to see where my partner grew up and spent time with his family. It’s always good to take time out, especially when you’re an artist. Unfortunately I’m too guilty of being a workaholic and don’t allow myself to take time out to free my mind, so it was great to get away and to shut off my phone and emails.

Peterhead reminded me a little bit like Largs. I used to love going to the beach, smelling the salty air and visiting the marina with all the boats, rusty metal, ropes and cracked painted wood.  I loved the colours of the harbour at Peterhead, lots of blues, teals and rusty yellows.

I feel a new collection forming….

We also ate lots of tasty fresh fish straight from the Peterhead fish markets, I think I came home 2 stone heavier as all we did was ate and drink. I do love a good curry and chippy and pancake!

It’s only 25 days until I go to the Edinburgh festival so I am going to be focusing on making stock and will be a wee hermit working away in my new studio. I’m not going to be doing lots of social media stuff as it sucks my creativity and I get totally stressed trying to think what to write. However, I will try to write another blog post with updates before the festival, but if I don’t get the chance you know why!

So watch this space to see what new pieces I can design in the next 3 weeks! So much to do….
