Passion of a Jewellery Designer

Looking back, did you ever wonder that you would be where you are today? Is there anything you regret or would do differently?

This blog is an outspoken reflection on where I am in 2015 and expectations for the future, during an interview by my intern Natalie McNair.

For sure there has been some tough times when starting my own jewellery business but jewellery is my passion and I remind myself of this when things get tough. It’s important to take a step back and remind ourselves why we do what we do and take a time-out every once in awhile.  This is definitely something I learnt in the last year; working 24/7 and my social/personal life lacking. With talking with my business advisors I made a week to week plan of things that need to be achieved in my business and taking time out as well. It has been very helpful and has focused on specific aspects of my business.

This year has gotten off to a good start in terms of commission work which I love doing. My focus is to get the website up and running in terms of getting my jewellery images up so people can shop a wider range of my jewellery online. As well as this I am constantly researching new crafts fairs to attend to, to create a wider audience and get potentially new clients to add to my portfolio. With the list of outlets I already sell my jewellery to I am forever looking into potentially new clients. The more exposure, the more known my brand will be aware and noticed by people.

There are so many business support for independent business women/men out there that anyone thinking about starting their own business; you will never feel alone or lost if you look at who is out there to support you in any aspect of your new venture.

It’s crazy to think that Genna Design has been around since 2006 and is something that I have built from scratch on my own and I can’t wait to see what the future will bring for myself and my business in the near future.

Remember Genna Design jewellery and why not check out my online shop at gennadelaney.com as new products will be getting added over the next few weeks.
